In loving memory of Sue Collins, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Born in New York to Bob and Dottie Collins, Sue's journey was marked by an indomitable spirit and dedication to personal fitness.
From an early age, Sue's charisma and boundless energy were evident. She pursued her education with fervor, excelling academically. As a personal trainer, she not only achieved personal success but also helped countless others, eventually establishing her own thriving business dedicated to helping individuals achieve their health and wellness aspirations.
Sue loved playing the piano, singing, dancing, and she nurtured this passion with numerous courses during her college years. Beyond her musical talents, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life—tending to her garden, indulging in literature, enjoying movies, trying new recipes, embracing retail therapy, and bringing loved ones together.
On June 7, 2024, Sue passed peacefully in her Novelty, Ohio home, surrounded by her cherished family, after bravely battling cancer. Sue's devotion to her family was unwavering. She shared 30 years of love and companionship with her husband, Mark, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Together, they raised her son, Christopher (Melanie), and welcomed a grandson, Brayden, into their lives. Sue's previous marriage to Allen "Al" Straka also bore significance in her life, fostering enduring connections with his children and grandchildren, particularly her dear Debbie (Dan) and her beloved grandchildren, Josie and Olivia.
Sue's memory is cherished by a vast network of loved ones, including her sister, Terri Collins (John Kubilus), and Mark's siblings: Kim Fury Slaten (Richard Slaten), Christine (Curtis) Long, Michael (Geri) Fury, Kathleen Collins-Fury (Pat Collins), Kelly (Joe) Herndon, David (Diana) Fury, and Timothy Fury. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Dottie Collins, and Mark's sibling, Patrick Fury.
Sue's presence brought light and joy to countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn her passing, let us take solace in the fond memories we shared and the profound impact she made. The family requests your love and prayers during this challenging time and will arrange a private celebration of Sue's remarkable life at a later date. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us, guiding us through the journey of life with grace and courage. Sue, you will be dearly missed, but your legacy will live on for generations to come. (St. John Funeral Home of Bainbridge Twp. 440-708-1855)
