Steven V. Ciuni

STEVEN V. CIUNI, age 86, of Shaker Hts., Ohio and Hilton Head, South Carolina, passed away January 4, 2023.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, JoAnne (nee Weber), his children Chuck (Joanne), Joseph (Mary Jo), Chris Ann Catanese (John) and Steve (Laura), his sister Caroline Gruttadauria (Lou, deceased), his brother Charles (Patricia), his grandchildren Nick (Joe), Steve (Beth), Shannon (Bryan), Katie-Jean (Bobby), Charlie (Cristen), Sammy Jo, Joe (Amanda), Jane, Tom (Sarah), Michael (Hallie), Ryan (Sara), Robert (Grace), Joey, Vinny, Steve (Samantha), Alexandria (Chad) and great grandchildren, Anthony, Annabell, Lukas, Damien, Ellie Jean, Scarlet, Sophie, Otto, Grace, Mae, Sophie, Archie, Avery and Rome. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Sophie (Cala).

Steve is a 1954 graduate of Benedictine High School and a 1958 graduate of Case Tech.  He was a Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, Kentucky and South Carolina and a Registered Professional Surveyor in the State of Ohio.  He was the Founder and President of Adache-Ciuni-Lynn Assoc., a Civil Engineering and Surveying Firm, that specialized in Municipal Engineering.  He was the former City Engineer for the Cities of Bedford, Macedonia, Shaker Hts., University Hts. and Walton Hills. He was the past President of the Municipal Engineers Association of Northeast Ohio. He retired in 1990 at the age of 55. In retirement, Steve and JoAnne moved to Hilton Head, SC.   He was an avid golfer, tennis player, and card player and he enjoyed woodworking.  Steve valued family, religion and food.  He never met an ice cream he didn’t like. The family will receive friends at the SCHULTE & MAHON -MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 5252 MAYFIELD RD., LYNDHURST (BETWEEN RICHMOND AND BRAINARD) TUESDAY, JANUARY 10 FROM 4 TO 8 P.M.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dominic Church, 19000 Van Aken Blvd., Shaker Hts. Ohio, Wednesday, January 11 at 11 A.M. (Please meet at church). Interment at Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Hts.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Steve’s name to InMotion, 23905 Mercantile Rd., Beachwood, Ohio 44122.  InMotion is a non-profit organization serving people with Parkinson’s disease.  (Arrangements by St. John Funeral Home of Bedford, 440-232-1155).
