Sharon Lee Shump (nee Carlson) was born on May 6, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away on August 24, 2024, at the age of 76. She drove a school bus for the Bedford City Schools for thirty years. Sharon enjoyed seeing her children every day. She adored her family and her pets.
She was the strongest woman that you will ever meet. Sharon loved life. In her younger years she was an avid horseman. Her baby was named Camel. She was also an excellent marksman, earning her the nickname Annie Oakley. Sharon participated in several competitions at Camp Perry in Port Clinton. She had an exciting life and she lived it to the fullest. In April of 2024 her cancer came back at stage four. She was a trooper. Her husband passed away in May 2024 and she stayed strong after a loving forty-two year marriage.
Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mark A. Shump; and her parents Ivan “Cowboy” Carlson and Evelyn Carlson. She is survived by her daughter Lesley McDonald (nee Fruhauf) (Jeff); daughters Tara Shields (nee Shump) (Ray) and Candy Ball (nee Shump) (Jason); son Patrick Shump (Daniela); sister Linda Carlson; brother-in-law Jeff Shump (Marsha); sister-in-law Val Shump; and grandchildren David Williams Jr., Audrey Forro, Dakota Shump and Emmalee Herron.
No services will be held according to Sharon’s wishes. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to The Skin Cancer Foundation https://www.skincancer.org/.
