Beloved husband of Beverly (nee Richard) for 61 years; loving father of Lawrence (Karen), James (GeeVee) and Lee (Michael) Backes; dearest grandfather of 8 and great grandfather of 2; brother of Thomas. Member of Empty Nesters at Holy Angels Church and past Commodore of the Forest City Yacht Club. Friends received at CHURCH OF THE HOLY ANGELS, 18205 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (RT 306), CHAGRIN FALLS, 44023, THURSDAY JUNE 21 FROM 10 – 11 A.M. Followed by MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL AT 11 A.M. Burial of cremains private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the St. Michael Fund at Church of the Holy Angels, assisting the needy in Geauga County (Arrangements by ST.
