REV. FR.  DOMINIC (Michael) MONDZELEWSKI, O.S.B. age 79, Benedictine Monk  of Saint Andrew Abbey for 58 years, former faculty member and principal of Benedictine High School, died on June 13, 2021. Beloved son of the late John and Sonya (Dziedzicki) Mondzelewski; loving brother of Dr. James Mondzelewski, MD (Yolanda) of Pittsburgh and Kathryn Lepore (Michael) of Cincinnati; uncle to many.  Fr. Dominic was the longest serving administrator in Benedictine history, an assistant principal from 1970 until 1977, and as principal from 1977 until 1994.  He also served many years as pastor of St. Lawrence parish.  He truly loved teaching history and his students , many of whom are now his friends.  He received numerous Teacher of the Year Awards and Honors.  Fr. Dominic was an avid fan of all sports at Benedictine High School, coaching tennis, cross country, and baseball.  Dominic struggled with health problems in his last years, but maintained a keen interest in family and school events.  He was a friend to all, an example to his students, and loved more than can be said by his family.  Friends and family received WEDNESDAY, JUNE 16 AT ST. ANDREW ABBEY CHURCH, 2900 Martin Luther King Drive (behind Benedictine High School),  FROM  2 P.M. TO 6:30 P.M. WITH MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL AT 7 P.M.  Burial Thursday, June 17 at Calvary Cemetery at 10:00 A.M.  In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Andrew Abbey or Benedictine High School.  (ARRANGEMENTS BY ST.
