MICHAEL ROBERT KOSTELNIK, SR., age 92. Beloved husband of Julie (nee Hustek) for 67 years; devoted father of Michael, Jr. (late Jacqueline), David and Doug (Bonnie); dear “Poppy” of Jenny, Mickey and Ava; great grandfather of Jack, Gianna, Evan and Owen; son of the late John and Mary (nee Maslar) Kostelnik; brother of John, Mary Ellen Wright and the following deceased: Andrew, William and Betty Jane Sauto. Mike was a 1944 graduate of Uniontown High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, where he trained as a B29 ball turret gunner. He worked in the Pennsylvania coal mines until moving to Cleveland in 1954. He entered the property management field and rose to Vice President of Bates & Springer. Mike founded Village Management Co. in 1971, where he worked tirelessly every day until his late 80’s. At his side since 1951 has been his wife, Julie. He was a devout Roman Catholic, avid golfer and charter member of Tanglewood Country Club. Friends received at the ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 16381 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (RT 306), CHAGRIN FALLS, 44023 (2.5 MILES NORTH OF RT. 422), MONDAY, AUGUST 27 FROM 4 – 8 P.M. where prayers will be held Tuesday, August 28 at 9:15 A.M. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joan of Arc Church, 496 East Washington Street, Chagrin Falls at 10 A.M. Burial All Souls Cemetery, Chardon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
