LINDELL C. NORTHUP (nee Clark), age 72, of South Russell, formerly of Solon. Beloved wife of William J. for 51 years; loving mother of Jarrett (Julie); dearest grandmother of William, Connor and Meghan; dear cousin and friend of many. Lindell was a graduate and supporter of the University of Rhode Island earning her Bachelor’s degree in 1968 and her Master’s degree in 1978. Later she earned a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Case Western Reserve University. She was a 50-year member of the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences in which she served in various roles including State President. She had many employers including the federally funded Nutrition Education and Training Program at the Rhode Island Department of Education, the Ohio State University Extension Service, the Neighborhood Centers Association in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Community College and the University of Connecticut’s Cooperative Extension Service. Lindell loved to volunteer including at the Animal Haven in New Haven, CT and the WomanSafe Resale Shoppe in Chesterland. Friends received at the ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 16381 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (RT 306), CHAGRIN FALLS, 44023 (2.5 MILES NORTH OF RT. 422), THURSDAY, MAY 23 from 6 – 8 P.M. Lindell will be going home to her beloved Rhode Island where services and burial will take place at the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home in Warwick, RI on Saturday morning, June 1st. (www.murphyfuneralhomes.org) Although flowers are appreciated, the family suggests that contributions be made to the scholarship fund that she personally set up at the University of Rhode Island; the William J. and Lindell Clark Northup Scholarship Fund for the College of Health Sciences.
