JOSEPH J. “POPPY” BACKO, SR., age 85, of Bedford. Beloved husband of Jane (nee Zembiak) for 63 years; loving father of Joseph Jr., Richard (Chris), Kim (Brian) Navratil and Michael (Kara); dearest grandfather of Joshua (Alisha), Jeremy, Leah, Noelle, Collin, Savanna and McKenna; dear brother of the late Steve and the late Paul(Frances); uncle and great uncle of many. Veteran, U.S. Army. Joe was a member of the Bedford Seniors, an avid Cleveland Browns’ fan and past Manager of Bedford baseball and softball teams. CREMATION. Friends received at THE ST. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, August 17 at St. Martin of Tours Church, Maple Hts. at 10 A.M. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH) Burial Bedford Cemetery. Although flowers are appreciated, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
