Visition Friday, Oct. 5th from 4 – 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Oct. 6th at Church of the Holy Angels at 9:30 a.m. Burial in Hermitage, PA.

DR. JOSEPH A. BOCCIA, age 79, of Auburn Twp. Beloved husband of Mary Ann (nee Burich) for 11 years; loving father of Maria (Frank) Volpe and Claire (Stanley) Liang; dearest grandfather of Ariel, Adriana, Gabriel, Alexander, Nathaniel and Cecilia; cousin and uncle to many. He adored his pet dogs, Duffy and Daphne, and was grateful for his caregiver, Gregory Pickney. Dr. Boccia was born in Brooklyn, NY and earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College. He served our country in the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He worked as the Director of the Department of Pathology for St. Luke’s Medical Center. Dr. Boccia was a war historian, amateur photographer and a competitive ballroom dancer. Friends received at the ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 16381 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (RT 306), CHAGRIN FALLS, 44023 (2.5 MILES NORTH OF RT. 422), FRIDAY FROM 4 – 8 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, October 6 at Church of the Holy Angels, 18205 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls, 44023 at 9:30 A.M. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH) Burial at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hermitage, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Church of the Holy Angels.
