Joan L. Williams

JOAN L. WILLIAMS (nee Neiner), 79, a lifelong resident of Bainbridge Township, passed away on October 4, 2022. Joan was the cherished wife to Douglas Williams; mother to Katie, Chad, and Adam; grandmother of Zander, Ian and Gavin; sister of Duane and Bruce Neiner.  Joan graduated from Solon High School and received a bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio University. During college, she met her husband Doug and they soon got married. Following graduation, Joan taught seventh grade at Bedford City School district. Later, she and Judy Wervey co-founded “The Kids Club, Inc.” child care center in Bainbridge.  She retired from her business after 12 years. Most recently, Joan took on responsibility within the family company, D.E. Williams Electric. Throughout, Joan and Doug remained happily married for over fifty-six years. Joan enjoyed spending time outdoors, tending to her home’s landscape and gardens. She was active in the lives of her children and grandchildren, and will always be remembered for being strong, warm, and loving. She made the lives of everyone around her better.  A celebration of Joan’s life will be planned for a later date.
