HAROLD M. “HAL” WHITTEN, age 82, of Newbury. Beloved husband of Joan M. “Joni” (nee Werstat) for 57 years; loving father of Scott (Rhonda) Whitten and Dawne Whitten; dear brother of Mary “Tootie” Woodring and Patrick (Cindy). Preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Geraldine, and his brother, William and sister, Dorothy Williams. He also leaves behind his canine companions, Honey and Riley. Hal graduated from Grand Valley High School in Orwell and received an Associate Degree from John Carroll University. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Hal was the co-founder of Creative Mold and Machine in Newbury. He loved spending time with his family, gardening, and enjoyed many sports, but golf was his true passion and managed a golf league at Pleasant Hills in Chardon. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. Family and friends are invited to a CELEBRATION OF LIFE, SATURDAY, JANUARY 27 FROM 4 – 8 P.M. AT ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 16381 CHILLICOTHE RD. (RT 306), CHAGRIN FALLS, 44023 (2.5 MILES NORTH OF RT. 422).
