Frank W. Fiala Sr

FRANK W. FIALA SR, age 82 of Walton Hills. Beloved husband of the late Rosemarie (nee Dlouhy); loving father of Darlene and Frank Jr. (Kelly); dearest grandfather of Hannah, Megan, and Dennis; dear brother of Karen (Don) Hovorka; brother-in-law of Joanie (Gary), Diane, Janet (deceased) (Roger); cherished uncle, great uncle, and a friend to many. Frank met his wife, Rosemarie, when she was 12 years-old and he was 14.  They were childhood sweethearts and celebrated 54 wonderful years of marriage.  In 1971, they started their own truck repair business, Fiala’s Interstate Truck Service, Inc. Frank was a dedicated owner, working 24/7, 365 days a year.   He also provided 39 years of excellent service managing the fleet of trucks for the Northeast Ohio American Red Cross. After retiring in April of 2011, Franks’s son, Frank Jr. and his wife, Kelly, continued the business as Fiala’s Truck Repair, LLC.  In the early 1980’s, Frank’s hobby was Truck Pulls in which he built his own Two-Wheel Drive Competition Trucks for Truck Pulls and the “Rosebud Special.” He pulled at Richfield Coliseum and was interviewed by Fox 8 News. Frank had won The Ohio State Two-Wheel Drive Championship and continued to compete in Truck Pulling for over 20 years. Family and friends received at ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 923 BROADWAY AVE, BEDFORD (ONE MILE WEST OF THE FORBES-BROADWAY EXIT OF I-271), FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3 FROM 3 – 7 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 4 at St. Mary Church, 340 Union St, Bedford at 10:00 A.M. (Please meet at Church). Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Although flowers are appreciated, the family suggests contributions to a charity of your choice.
