EMERY S. KOCSIS, age 94, of Bainbridge Twp. Beloved husband of June (nee Ratkai); loving father of June-Marie (Jeffrey) Angle, Benjamin (Jody) Kocsis, and the late Robert; grandfather of Stephen Kocsis, Elizabeth Angle, and Erin Angle. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 6, 1928, Emery’s life was grounded in Christian family values. His lifelong special interests in scouting and golf began with the avid support of his parents both of whom valued the principles that these activities represented. Emery and his Dad’s leadership in the Eagle Scout movement continued on as they initiated the first Air Scout unit in Ohio. Personally meeting Orville Wright in 1946 was the highlight of one of Em’s many campouts. He continued in scouting leadership for several decades, along with his dedication to the fraternal activities of the Knights of Columbus, being inducted into the Fourth Degree Moses Cleveland Assembly in 1964. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. For his dedicated service to church, country, family and community, he was accorded the honor of Kentucky Colonel in 2013. Above all, Emery’s devotion to his Christian faith and to the daily Rosary marked him as a Man of Prayer. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Holy Angels, 18205 Chillicothe Road, Bainbridge Twp. on Tuesday, December 27 at 11 A.M., where friends will be received from 10 A.M. until time of Mass. Burial to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Malachi (homeless ministry), 2459 Washington Av., Cleveland, OH 44113 or Ledgewood Christian Church, P.O. Box 350, Novelty, OH 44072.
