Funeral services for Carole A. Tisdale (nee Baxter), 76, of Newbury Township, will be held on Monday, January 7 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Covenant Church of Willoughby Hills, 29400 Chardon Rd., Willoughby Hills.

Carole passed away on Friday, January 4 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 12, 1942 in Lorain, OH.  She married Warren Tisdale in 1960 and they lived in Newbury Township since 1981.  Carole earned a degree in Home Economics from The Ohio State University in 1964.  After college, she began her career with Stouffer Foods in Solon, Ohio but left in 1969 to proudly be a stay at home Mom, a job that she loved and cherished and would always be most proud of.  After moving to Newbury, she was very active in the local schools, serving on the PTO for many years, organizing and running various recreation boards, band and general school events.  Carole was also very supportive of her husband Warren’s school board campaigns and service terms. She continued to cultivate her love of cooking and baking, something that she proudly passed onto her children.   Carole returned to Stouffers Foods (now Nestle) in 1989 and retired from her position in the regulatory and labeling department after 19 years in 2008.  Carole always enjoyed showing her champion Tibetan Terriers throughout the years, had a huge heart for all animals and creatures of the earth, enjoyed volunteering at organizations in Geauga County in her retirement, and always looked forward to the annual Tisdale Family Vacation with her children and grandchildren each summer.

Carole is survived by her children, Mathew (Julie), Chad (Lauren), Chris (Kristin) and Suzy (Bob) Coleman; grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary, Laurel, Calvin, Ella, Anna, Henry and  Madeline Tisdale; brother-in-law, James (Connie) Tisdale; sister-in-law, Rennie Tisdale; and four nephews; her long-time, most faithful and loving feline companion Grady, who never left her side through the past years of progression through the various stages of Alzheimer’s and most recently her battle with terminal cancer.

Carole was a devout Christian and we are comforted in knowing that she is again reunited with those family members that preceded her death, her husband Warren, brother, James Baxter, granddaughter, Petunia Tisdale; and parents, Harold and Margaret (nee Kovach) Baxter (Ziolek).

Friends received at the St. John Funeral Home, 16381 Chillicothe Rd. (Rt. 306), Chagrin Falls, 44023 (2.5 miles north of Rt. 422) Sunday, January 6 from 2 – 6 P.M.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain, OH.
