Barbara Ann Marshall

Barbara Ann (Mack) Marshall, 75, of Solon, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025. Barb was born July 23, 1949, in Painesville, Ohio to the late Harry and Anna (Kernc) Mack, and was the middle sister to Harry P. Mack, Jr and Christine (Mack) Sheffield. She graduated from Cardinal High School in Mentor, Ohio and worked hard to put herself through college to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Kent State University in 1972. She student taught Biology at Solon High School and later served as a substitute teacher. Barb had a successful 32-year career with Smurfit Stone / Graphic Packaging International in Solon, holding many different roles until she retired as the Director of HR. She was a dedicated leader who was well-respected by her co-workers that became like family.

Barb was a caring and compassionate wife to her husband, Craig of 35 years. Together they enjoyed remodeling projects, biking, vacationing, and spending countless summers on Lake Erie aboard their boat. Barb was an extremely proud and loving mother and grandmother, a devoted sister and aunt, and the unwavering heartbeat of her family and closest friends. While she was a strong woman, she had an extremely gentle side and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Her hobbies were sewing, rollerblading, cross-country skiing, bowling, fishing and going to the beach. She was committed to eating healthy and working out regularly at the YMCA. She also loved taking trips with her family and high school girlfriends and often visited her daughter and grandson, whom she adored, in N. California, escaping the Ohio winters. A great day for her was cooking meals, which she always did with love or heading up to the local MGM casino, where she could see live concerts, which she was able to do even more recently.

In her final days, Barb was surrounded by many loved ones. She will be incredibly missed, but we take comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with loved ones who have passed before her. She is survived by her loving husband, Craig Marshall, her only daughter Carolyn (Skala) Lescher and grandson, Kellan Yasar; Siblings: Harry P. Mack Jr., Christine (Mack) Sheffield; Nieces: Kristin (Christian) Dueber, Julie Mack; and many other cousins, family members and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at St. John Funeral Home, 16381 Chillicothe Rd, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM with a Closing Service starting at 2:00pm.
